Content

A visitor to the Court of Matthius Corvinus, King of Hungary, in the 1470’s—arrived, no doubt, with the hope of at least glimpsing his Highness’s legendary library—might well have found himself rubbing shoulders with a stocky, powerfully built man of intense presence, aquiline nose and large luminously hypnotic eyes.

This brooding guest—or, more properly, comfortable hostage to the political machinations of the Age—was one Vlad the Third, Prince of Wallachia and voivode of the house of Basarah, known as Draculea, “son of the dragon”.
