Content

Pictures of Yukio is about three university students who become obsessed with ideas about the famous Japanese author Yukio Mishima brought on by the image of the face of Mishima formed by a shadow on the side of a building which they find out used to be the place where Mishima studied in junior and high school. One of them disappears without trace until he reappears as a person with a bizarre manifesto based on the idea of taking the world back to analogue ways. The dénouement recalls Mishima’s own speech that he gave to the Jietai military academy shortly before his suicide.
